Sight Zilla is an African American graffiti artist, author, and graffiti consultant based in Los Angeles. Once known as the “King of South Central” for his prolific graffiti career, Sight Zilla’s name gained national attention in 2006 when he received the most severe sentencing for graffiti in U.S. history. Charged with 70 counts of felony vandalism, he faced over 30 years in prison, shining a spotlight on the criminalization of street art.
Today, Sight Zilla continues to share his story and his artistry, using his platform to inspire and educate.
Walter Thomson-Hernandez was just eleven years old when he was admitted to L.A.’s infamous Scared Straight program for graffiti related crimes.
